Going live: what you need

What it takes to pull card transactions and digital receipts automatically, instead of importing statements.

1

Statement import (working now)

Download a CSV or PDF statement from online banking and import it here. Each card line becomes a transaction you can match to a scanned slip, or print as a statement-backed transaction record.

2

Live transactions

You need an account-data API, either from the bank or from an aggregator you have a contract with:

  • Bermuda: no open-banking law yet (Appleby). Bermuda Commercial Bank does publish a transactions API. For Butterfield, HSBC or Clarien, ask the bank for API or corporate data-feed access.
  • South Africa: Stitch offers bank account and transaction data with the user's consent.
  • US, Canada, UK, EU: Plaid and similar aggregators.

The app would also need a small server to hold API keys and receive webhooks.

3

Itemised digital receipts

Line-item receipts come from the merchant, through the card networks, and reach your bank's app. They do not appear on statements:

These are bank-side products, so ask your card issuer whether it takes part. Otherwise the practical options are e-mailed receipts and scanning paper slips, which this app already does.

Install Commed on your phone

Commed is a progressive web app. On Android (Chrome), tap Install app at the top or use the browser menu. On iPhone (Safari), tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. It then opens full-screen like a normal app, works offline and keeps your data on the device.
